Tying everything together.
When facilitators present their designs to me, their outlines often include amazing exercises and clever learning moments.
And yet, it doesn’t work.
Why?
Because they are missing the red thread, the overall storyline that ties everything together that happens.
When looking back on the workshop or session, the participants should see a clear path they embarked on. The purpose of designing it the way it was should be evident.
Things to consider when you work on your workshop:
-> how are the end and the beginning connected
-> how are the elements/exercises linked
-> are there any breaks that feel unnatural and strange (trust your gut)
-> are there any foreign elements
-> what is the purpose of each segment
Having a red thread can make all the difference in making your workshop memorable. It helps you create a story around it and ensure its success.
